QUEST
FOR MONISM |
|
Sri Sankaracharya established the validity of Advaita on firm ground by his commentaries on the Prasthanatraya, viz., The Brahma Sutras, the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. However, he also wrote a number of treatises or Prakarana Granthas in order to help the ordinary seekers of truth overcome the intricacies of the deep philosophy of the Prasthanatraya. The Prakarana texts introduce the seekers to the joys of Vedanta and uplifts him from wherever he is. Among these texts, the Viveka-chudamani or the Crest Jewel of Discrimination is the greatest and is the cream of the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. |
