Dronacharya - John Dowson

Dronacharya was the son of Bharadwaja. he was born in a pot (drona) and hence he was referred to as Drona or kumbhasambhava. He married Kripi, the sister of Kripacharya. He has a son named Aswatthama. He was acharya, or teacher of the military art, both to the Kaurava and Pandava princes, and so he was called Dronacharya. He had been slighted by Drupada, king of Panchala, and became his enemy.
