It is an old saying that time mocks life.  It is equally true to say that Ramayana mocks time. Ramayana has withstood the ravages of time for millennia.  It is recorded that Brahma himself said,

"As long as in this firm set land 

The Rivers shall flow and mountains stand

So long throughout the world be sure

 The Great Ramayana shall endure"

The fact that Ramayana is known in other countries like Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, reinforces Brahma's assertion "that Ramayana endures throughout the world".
