Vishnu – The Cosmic Being - STV Raghavacharyulu |
|
The Saints like Hiranyagarbha, worship Isvara as ‘Vishnu, with two hands––the eternal and non-eternal. He bears the Heaven called Swayambhu in eternal hand and the Earth in non-eternal hand. Thus He stands in the middle!’ Taking the Heaven and the Earth, under His control, He becomes Viswagarbha. There is no one Superior to Him. On one side, He creates the tripartite world-Samyati (Swayambhu Dyau)-Space (Antariksha) and Paramesti (Pridvi) and appoints Swayambhu Brahma to it and gives Him Vedas. He governs wisdom and the Vedas. On another side He creates the tripartite world, Rodasi (Bhu=Earth, Bhuva=space and Suvah = Sun) and appoints Siva called Maheswara to it, and gives Him cattle (Pasus) and physical elements (bhutas). He governs them. Thus Vishnu is the single supreme God to be worshipped. The inactive matter and mind will be under the control of the Vital spirit (Prana). So "among the three universal distinctions caused by Knowledge, action and matter, the knowledge and material habitations will be under the control of Lord Vishnu, the spirit-giver1". |
