Meaning: When we go to the temple, we stand before the Lord and close the eyes to feel the reflexes in our mind/heart about the Lords form and then offer our prayers to the Lord inside our heart, who is called ANTHARYAAMI. In the Bhagavadgita Lord Krishna says, I stay in the hearts of the Living beings in the form of their Aatma. Aatmavat sarvabhootani Hrid deshe Arjuna Tishthathi. In this Kriti Annamachaarya offers prayers to such Antharyaami not in the form of the rituals but in the form of all the actions of himself as a human being. Whatever actions a person does, all of them are offered as one or other form of prayers. So Annamachaarya performs nitya puja meaning always worshipping the Lord through his actions and through functions of various parts of his body. |
Pallavi: To the Lord who has manifested Himself in the heart as Antharyaami, I have learnt these offerings as Nitya puja. |
Charanam 1: My body itself is the temple, my head is the Gopuram (it is not out of place to mention that in Aagama Shaasthras it is written that temples resemble the human body in the lying down posture), my heart itself is the crown, my eyes are the pair of sacred lights as I offer them to the Lord in my heart i.e., Antharyaami. |
Charanam 2 : My speech itself is the Manthra, my tongue is the bell which is ringing in the temple, my tasty foods which I eat are the offerings (nivedanams) to the Lord who is in my thoughts, as Antharyaami. |
Charanam 3: All my movements through my legs are the pradakshinams, (meaning going round the sanctum sanctorum) my aatma (jivaatma) is the supplicated servant of the Lord, my deep breathings are the celestial fans (vinjamaralu used for fanning the Lord) swinging to give comfort to the Lord, and I offer these to my Antharyaami Lord Venkateshwara Swamy. |
