Truth and Dharma - Smt. Anasuya Devi, Jillellamudi |
Amma: Truth (satya) and dharma – are they the same, or are they two? |
Questioner: Both are the same, Amma |
Amma: If both are the same, why do they have separate names? Please define both separately – what dharma is, what truth is. |
Q. ‘Dharma’ means the conduct prescribed in the scriptures. Everyone has his dharma prescribed there. To live accordingly is his dharma. |
Amma: What is truth? |
Q. Dharma includes truth. |
Amma: Let it be so. You are an elder. I do not know how to ask questions, nor how to conduct myself. I do not understand what I hear. I do not feel that what I hear is true. This is my state. |
