Jillellemudi Amma - Dinakar M

Amma (Mother) was born on March 28, 1923 and named Anasuya Devi by her parents. Right from her birth, she manifested all the signs of spiritual perfection, and was recognized as the Divine Mother. She married and lived as a seemingly ordinary housewife until 1956. Since then, increasing number of Her spiritual children have visited Her in the tiny village of Jillellemudi, attracted by the love and wisdom, she radiates. Amma’s message, unfettered and unclouded by the sanctions, taboos and stigmas of tradition, unfolds an opportunity for positive bliss to the ordinary human being. Amma declared that for both saints and sinners the final outcome is positive. She exposed the fallacy of an unseeming divinity. Confirmed that divinity is all over. Exists everywhere. It is termed God by the spiritualist and Nature by the scientist. God is not somewhere beyond this universe. She denounced limited attach-ments. Extolled boundless affinity. Man elevates himself to the divine if he could universally love his fellow men. Amma heralds a spiritual renaissance. Her message is startlingly fresh and rationally explicit.

Jillellemudi is a tiny village in Andhra Pradesh, located at a distance of 14 km from Bapatla, in Guntur District. The village is inhabited by a hundred odd households and is entirely nondescript; it could have been passed over, like any other village, without anyone giving even scant attention.

This seemingly ordinary village has acquired significance, as Jillellemudi Amma, a unique person made her abode here. Numerous visitors from within the state, across the country, as also quite a few from abroad, had come over to this village, if only to have a glimpse of this extraordinary person, popularly known as Jillellemudi Amma, formally addressed as Matru Sri Anasuya Devi, uncommon in ever so many ways.
