Meaning: This is one of the many famous krithis of Saint Thyagaraja, in which he claims that praising the Lord Rama is the only purpose of life for any person. He also confirms how it is so fond and close to the hearts of many gods. He describes the purpose of taking the human body is to praise the Lord. He directs the mind ( Oh Manasaa!) to pray HIM. One should understand the meaning of the word Bhajana as not simply chanting the name/names of the Lord, but recollecting and reflexing in the mind about the God and the meaning of all those names which describe the Lord.

Pallavi: Oh Mind! Sing with lot of fondness in praise of Lord Rama!

Anupallavi: Even gods like Brahma, Rudra and others and sacred Brahmins feel that it is a rare-opportunity …..

Charanam : Oh! Mind! You took this mirthful human body through which you have been able to understand nuances of the seven notes (swaraas) which govern the music world, the OM, the Vedas and shasthraas and other sixty four arts. But what is the use of all these if you do not find out the path to salvation. And why altercate and argue on all these things? The only way is to sing in praise of the Lord Rama, who is praised by Thyagaraja
