Rejoice without Conflict - Sri Sri Ravishankar

Our life is spread predominantly in 3 areas; action, thoughts and feelings. Action is gross, thought is subtler than that, feeling is even subtler. But we are beyond the feelings. Actions charge, different actions happen, different thoughts come. Thoughts change. Feelings, different feelings come and go. They change, but beyond that is where I am. Observing, removing one’s own identity from the action, from the thought, from the feeling. Observe ourselves, observing. It is one energy that manifests in the body in various ways. The breath, feelings, sensation are all connected. Ah, one energy that is dormant as life energy in us; when it is awakened, life becomes more interesting. You must have seen there are people who are not sensitive to anything, at all. All that they do is eat and drink and sleep. They have no drive of any sort. This is the very base type.

When the energy has awakened a little bit the person is interested in fine arts, and in refined things. With the first awakening of the energy it manifests as sex energy. Sex-procreative or creative energy. The same energy has two phases. It manifests as creative activity, arts, interest in music and culture, dance, drama, painting and you know some creativity comes forth. Or the same thing manifests as sex energy, procreative. When the energy moves a little upwards to the navel, the same energy assumes another dimension-arrogance, joy, jealousy. You would find an artist very jealous. There is arrogance also. There is joy of having created something. It is one energy which manifests in this form when it comes to the navel region. And whenever you have experienced jealousy have you noticed something happens in the navel region. And when you feel arrogant something happens there. And attachment-sense of loss, all these manifests as different emotions, their corresponding point is the navel point. It was one energy which was manifesting as a creative energy or sex energy.
