Activities in May, 2007

Icfai Republic School, Bangalore

A new school started in Bangalore in the JP Nagar area, helping the children from nearby slums. The school has classes from Nursery to Class II, and will open by June, 2007.

Icfai Republic School, Fatehnagar

A one month summer camp was held where students were coached in cricket, basket ball, dance, dramatics, drawing and carnatic music. Experts like Ms. Purnima Rau, Former Captain, Indian Women’s Cricket Team, and Mr. Santosh, A.P. State Basket-ball player, led the sports camps. The events concluded with tournaments and exhibitions where the children exhibited their newly acquired skills.

Health Camps

A health camp conducted at Rasoolpura (Secunderabad) was attended by more than 550 patients out of which more than 45% came with vision problems. 80 spectacles were distributed free to the needy patients as per opthalmogists’s prescriptions. Dr. Ranga Reddy Lions Eye Hospital (Drishti Foundation), Indian Red Cross Society and Family Planning Association of India provided the necessary support.
