The world had become a dangerous place to live in, and this is despite all claim of being civilized, of having evolved from the primitive to the modern man. Man longs for many things, which are beyond to his reach, when fails gets disillusionment which becomes the root cause of anxiety and frustration. The author who is a physician and medical teacher has nicely attempted to find out the solution of anxiety which all of us encounters in our day to day life. |
In the present times, when non-cooperation unhealthy composition and jealously misprevailing in the modern society, the book can be very useful for all age groups to find out many solution to their problems which have been derived from vast experiences and guidance form our ancient holy books and saints. |
In this book, an attempt has been made to trace the origin of anxiety and grief, its causes, manifestations, remedies and management recognized and practiced in the prehistoric times. I have tried to compare the various causes of anxiety and depression described in Gita and Upanishads (Gita is also called as Gitopanishad) and compared with those encountered in our day-to-day life (with the help of case summaries). Similarly, the manifestation and the subsequent management given by Lord Krishna has been compared with the therapies practiced today. We clearly find the generalizations from the spiritual experiences and observations standing strong in the smallest and the finest complexities of the human life. |
The book has seven chapters. Some fifty centuries ago, Lord Krishna spoke Bhagwad Gita to HIS friend and devotee Arjuna. |
Their discourses-one of the greatest philosophical and religious dialogues known to man, forms the foundation of this small work. The views are substantiated by relevant shlokas in Sanskrit, its Sanskrit-English equivalents and translation in easy English. For easy reading, the English translation of shlokas has been expressed in verses. |
