Meaning

Sri Saikrishna Yachendra is one of the modern lyricists whose lyrics have been applauded by many music lovers. Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna, a legendary in Carnatic music, had sung his lyrics adding much more flavor to the lyrics through his unmatched music.

In this lyric total surrender and supplication to the lord are depicted.

Pallavi: Oh! Nataraja! Lord Siva! I offer my pranaams to you and worship you with my dance.

Anupallavi : Oh! Lord! This is not a dance where I make movements of my hands and legs, I do not express all my facial expressions and feelings through my dance; but I offer my entire life at your feet as dance.

Charanam  All the movements of my limbs be treated as my nritya bhangimas i.e., various poses that a dancer shows; all the pancha indriyas i.e., eyes, nose, tongue, ears and skin are the mudraas; the nine nerves (referred to also nava nadulu in the yogavasistham such as ida, pingala, sushumna etc., ) in my body be treated as nava rasaas (during rendition of any nuber in dance, the dancer depicts the nava rasaas such astonishment, happiness, anger, love, sorrow etc.) and whatever I feel in my life as the Bhavana which a dancer shows, and my platform for dance is the entire land – thus I dance and show my reverence  and prayer to you.
