Meaning: This is also one of the famous renditions of Sri Thyagaraja. This will be on the kritis invariably in any karnatic musical concert. We present this kriti for the Sivarathri festival.

Pallavi: Hey Man! Why don’t you chant Siva Siva siva always and get rid of the worldly pains and difficulties.

Charanam 1: Please shun the six evils namely, kama, krodha, moha, lobha, madha, maatsarya; do not long for other beautiful women (stressing on one wife for one man (eka patnivratha); hate to usurp the wealth of others; get rid of the ignorance; please adore the Lord Shiva with bilwa leaves with full devotion from the route of your heart.

Charanam 2: Be in the company of noble people, worship the Lord of the three universes namely, the swarga, the marthya and the pathala lokas, adore and worship the Lord earnestly without any sort of shy. And say: again siva siva.
