God is Personification of Beauty - R F Lambert

The true seeker of truth, like the conscientious scientist, already loves the object of his search, even before he begins seeking! Surely his love for it grows, indeed feeds on the nature and form of truth he finds, but his love already exists. His love for the truth does not depend on the "finding of it". His salvation does not hinge on revelation, but on love, which makes him love the truth even if it has not been revealed. In his search however, he does not ask "Is Truth?" as if he were uncertain of its existence. He does not ask, "What is truth?" as if he were uncertain of its substance, for the substance of truth is love. It is this very love that leads him to a truth he cannot see or hear or touch.

The seeker does not even ask, "Where is truth?" as if he were uncertain of its omnipresence. He already exists in the faith that the object of his search is not just "somewhere" but every-where. In fact his search is not a question at all, it is an answer. It is his answer. An answer not born of himself, but of truth. He is already part of the truth he seeks so he is able to bow to God whom he has not seen. He seeks not with pride but with humility. He does not demand truth as a right but accepts it as the gift it really is.
