| When our sensitization to expectations and preferences becomes externally directed and not towards Self, life becomes transaction oriented and one of just political adaptability. This transaction orientation may lead to a range of emotions, which do not find virtue in such qualities as traditions, tolerance, sensitivity, moral and ethical values, and may, at worst, lead to developing and unleashing of militant fanaticism of various types we see in the world today. If our responses to challenges and opportunities lead us to a life of complacency and fragmentation, of servitude and squandered time and missed opportunities and possibilities, the sub-consciousness impressions will haunt us in old age and affect our mental balance. | |||
