Kundalini Awakening - Sri Sarvari |
To bring out Kundalini power from Mooladhara and push it up to Sahasrara, is all that a yogi wants. The channel is one ‘Sushumna’. But the concept and proceedings are different. The Kundalini rises through Sushumna. That is ok. What next? Where does it go from Sahasrara? Does it stay there itself? What does it do? Can a sadhaka do that work all alone? or Does he need any external support? Is it Divine power or God’s grace or any other source? |
These are very subtle and intricate questions. There are various procedures in vogue. First, we must understand whether the Kundalini has any links with the mind or direct link with Soul or both? Generally, we depend on ancient literature. But from time to time, from age to age, literature changes its routes. It will invariably establish different proposals. Every system seems to be correct. Every method shows some proofs in its support. Every system was authentic in the days of its inception. We don’t take the lapse of time into consideration. Every theory is time bound. They may be true at one time. Today they may not be practical. Systems change from time to time. Here practicality is important. Experience is important. An experienced Master’s guidance is all the more important. |
Our physical body is the laboratory for all experiments in yoga. However great a soul might be, it would come to human birth in order to attain perfection. Then only it would gain Immortality, while speaking about physical bodies there is a sound of non-physical bodies. Some Meta–physical knowledge is required to understand about the non-physical bodies. What we call Astral bodies in reality are non-physical bodies. They are not astral compositions. For they are not visible to our eye, we simply name them astral. There are seven bodies in total. They are sheathes, one inserted in the other. Their formations and compositions are different. Even their working patterns are different. Their bases are unique by nature. They represent seven separate planes. Even all of them are located in one physical body – Gross body, the inner six bodies represent different worlds. |
We all knew about the first sheath – i.e., physical body. We can see its outer. We don’t know what exactly in inside the physical body and its working. This body is composed of gross materials. So it is named Gross body. We cannot see the second body i.e., the first inner body with our physical sight. Another sight is required to see the inner bodies. The first inner body is composed of Ether a type of Air. The third body is exactly Astral. This is more subtle than the previous body. So it is called subtle body. The fourth one is neither subtle nor gross. It is psychic. I mean purely manasic – mind’s fiber. All our mental activities are under the direct control of this manasic body. It produces thought pictures. The fifth body is Atmic – It is full of spirits. The sixth body is beyond our mind’s range. It is Cosmic composition. That is called Brahmic body. Higher consciousness prevails in that state. The last one is called Nirvanic body. In reality it has no body at all. It is bodiless, formless, thoughtless, it is Nirvanic. It is beyond conception. |
All these seven bodies represent seven planes and seven higher worlds. Strictly speaking, there are two more planes namely Para Nirvanic, Maha Para Nirvanic. They are states of Higher consciousness. To gain any first hand knowledge of these bodies and the planes represented by them, we have to link up the seven bodies with yoga consciousness. That is possible only when our Kundalini is awakened. Thus, we have to begin the yoga work with Kundalini Awakening. To awaken Kundalini, we should have Right Knowledge about Kundalini. We must have personal experience. We cannot measure that knowledge with our minds. It is the Soul that can judge the Kundalini functions. What I mean to say that every yogi should have personal experience. We should not borrow other’s experience and make it our own. My understanding will be mine, your experience will be yours. There will not be any resemblance between the experiences of any two persons. Only practice makes a yogi perfect. |
From the philosophical point of view, a human body is a seven storeyed construction. During the first seven years, the gross body grows. The seeds for other bodies are kept unknown. They don’t come out. Even in grown up people, we cannot say that all the subtle bodies are formed. Until one starts learning, mind does not grow and function properly. So, before attaining the age of seven, children are sent to school. The primary education gives the prime culture to man. Before crossing the seven year limit, no body can decide which child is brilliant and who becomes dull. Some children do not have mental growth. They don’t show any sparks of intelligence. The etheric body formation is necessary for intelligence. Boys and girls in whom the etheric body formation does not take place, can not shine in education. They don’t exhibit any creativity. The next best is Manasic body. It is called Bhava Sareera. With the formation of Bhava Sareera a boy or a girl gains sharpness of mind. That is done below 14 years of age. That is in the second seven year circle. Some children show brilliance from the seventh year onward. Some children show mental growth after fourteenth year. That will be the third cycle–from fourteenth to twenty first year. A child starts gaining feelings, emotions and creative ability at fourteen. They are to be controlled at that age. The future of a boy or girl depends on the feelings and emotions of that age. The next one Astral body. It is a true copy to the physical body, but non-physical. It is invisible. The astral will be formed during the teenage. Up to 21 years it grows and stabilizes. That is the minor age period. After 21 years the physical body does not grow. The onward changes will be radical but not precisely physical. The fourth is Manasic body. It is formed between 21-28 years age. That gives man his individuality. Personality buildup, emotions and desires reach climax in that period. |
It is true that the Kundalini directly influence the Manasic body. A subtle link will be established between our mind and Kundalini. The impact of our past birth will be on this Manasic body. But the mind plays tricks and covers it with a mantle of forgetfulness. It does not allow Kundalini to come into action. The mind tries to spread a veil on Kundalini and the past memories. Thus, a person establishes his personal wisdom and intelligence. That cannot be anyway Higher Intelligence or Real Knowledge. That looks always artificial. |
If a person, by wise decision and Will Power allows Kundalini to awaken, he can acquire wonderful powers and can do miracles. The Yogis stop their experiments with the fourth body. By that time the yogi gains popularity and become renown. His personality comes to a final finish. The mystic powers acquired at that stage give full satisfaction. No further progress becomes possible. Even though such people start escavation with Spirits, they become dry of spiritualism. When an opportunity arise they declare themselves as god incarnations. The Atma retreats to unknown planes giving scope for miracles to exhibit. |
Here, our Self experiments. Our Soul gains new experiences. The yogi will be confident of his mystic powers. Then the spiritual person recognizes divinity in him. If he desires, he can bring up his Kundalini power to Sahasrara. He can invite any God of his choice. Gods give their Presence whenever required and answer his demands. He can bless anybody and bestow best results. He can observe the working of his Kundalini energy and can rise the Kundalini Power in others. He can bring up the Kundalini energy to any of the six centers he like. Language will not be a hurdle to Higher Knowledge. Our acquired knowledge will be fruitful at that level. He simply declares that he is the God. It is the Tric played by Kundalini. |
A person whose Kundalini is awakened in a natural way will be moderate in all walks of life. He hates vulgar acts and immoral behavior. He becomes pure and perfect. Once he is Self Realized every body would respect him. He looks quiet peaceful and calm. A disciple is fortunate to have such a person as his Mentor. He independently arrives at Truth. He formulates his own opinions basing on his experience. He cannot be harsh to anybody. He will be wandering always in higher worlds. He can even love people who hate him and who consider him as their enemy. He becomes independent and finds a new path for his upward travel. |
To some extent, we will be knowing the working of the first four bodies. The fifth one is beyond our physical consciousness. That is Atmic body. The purpose of any Raja Yoga is attained of Atmic body and Realization of the Self. The Atmic body formation takes place between 35-42. That is the suitable age for Raja Yoga Sadhana. Our spiritual Masters and Maharshies, even if they started meditation and renunciation at an early age could get fitness after 40th year. The reason is One’s Atmic body will be formed at that age. 40th year is the mid-way in any body’s life. Life takes a good turn at that age. |
A self realized person does not have any interest in Temples and God – worship. That itself shows his Inner transformation. He recognizes importance of the Self. A saint or a yogi stops his upward travel there itself. "He begins to speak of ‘Aham Brahma’. That concept is not a healthy one. It is not secure to his higher aspirations. One has to travel more and go Beyond. That Beyond is limitless. He should forget about his Atmic body and merge in Brahmam. If he goes beyond limitations, he becomes limitless and Immortal. He thus attains the state of no birth and no death. That is Nirvanic state. That is Attainment. It is a big vacuum. There the Soul retires in Eternal Bliss. The whole of creation comes out of that vacuum – when ecstasy is given a Jerk. |
We often talk about Moksha. We also believe that Moksha is the ultimate goal of man. We can experience Moksha in our fifth body. After attaining the four bodies, and gaining enough experience in those bodies, we reach the Atmic body. Our Soul will be At Home there. That would be the native place of all Souls. There every Soul becomes independent. That Independency each yogi should aspire and attain. Heaven and Hell come under the experience of the Soul. Our physical body does not suffer any Hell or enjoy any Heaven. This Heaven or Hell experience is the fourth state affair. A person or a yoga sadhaka goes up to three bodies will be back to another life and another birth. With the fourth body, we enjoy Heaven and Hell. Where our stay is short, we visit that one first. One can enjoy Heaven fully and then slip into Hell. If one is scheduled a short period in Hell, he will first visit Hell and then proceed Heavenward. |
If we, by serious meditation, could claim the fifth body, we can skip both Heaven and Hell as well. If every thing goes well, we can achieve all the seven bodies, before we attain the age of fifty. Our Kundalini awakens in the fourth body stage. |
