About Meditation - Swami Satswarupananda |
Question-Answer |
How to think of the chosen Ideal within the heart—whether facing me or facing with me? |
There are two classes of sadhakas—one class wishes the Lord to be always facing them, and enjoys His presence separately whereas the other feels Him to be in every part of the sadhaka’s body, everywhere, and not different from himself. |
What are the congenial hours for meditation? |
In the morning. Generally we have good rest and sleep during the night, and therefore we do not feel sleepy or drowsy in the morning. So it is the best time for meditation. |
One should develop the habit of meditation for about two hours at a stretch, as Sharat Maharaj has said. You can increase the duration slowly at the rate of a few minutes per day until you reach the target of two hours at a stretch. |
It is said that immediately after meditation, one should not indulge in worldly affairs. |
After meditation for a while one should continue to remain quiet; then a mood to continue with meditation sets in, and the sadhaka should maintain this mood; and like this at least for a period of two hours one can meditate. |
